Christmas Eve is here at the Avenue Hotel Bed and Breakfast. We have closed this year so we can spend it with family and friends.

Elfie finally has a little bit of downtown this morning. He is highly organized and productive (thanks to all that coffee) and got everything done. The toys are made. The presents are wrapped. The cookies and baked.. and eaten. He finally gets to take a break before the big night.

The Avenue Hotel Bed and Breakfast offers a variety of massage services. Treat yourself, relax, & rejuvenate, like Elfie here. I believe he is getting ready for the hot stone massage.

We have an on-site spa room with our own licensed massage therapist. Massages can be scheduled at the time of booking your room or during your stay. We do our best when scheduling last-minute requests, but with some planning, scheduling massage treatments can be a wonderful extension to your stay.

 One of our resident greeters, Zoey,  at the Avenue Hotel Bed and Breakfast, a Colorado Springs lodging accommodation  at the base of Pikes Peak in Manitou Springs is surprised by Elfie this morning. Zoey is always a willing companion and doesn't seem to mind helping out.

We have the two dogs, Zoey and Ollie, and two Cats, Rena and Duchess. They in the lower level of the house with Gwenn and Randy. They are not allowed in the guests rooms so we can accommodate people with allergies.

 Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate your pets. This because of pet allergies and the safety of our own pets. We love them but we have our own animal pack. They all love attention and look forward to greeting and meeting you!

With Christmas soon approaching (only 2 more days!!!) Elfie has enlisted the help of Zoey to be his little helper.

When it comes to our Christmas decorating at the Avenue Hotel Bed and Breakfast, a Colorado Bed and Breakfast Inn, we like to mix the Victorian style with sentimental. 

Gwenn has owned Elfie for as long as she can remember and he just discovered Gwenn's baby shoes from her mother. Gwenn had them hanging in the tree as ornaments. 

However you decorate, it has to be special and meaningful to you.

 Just about anyone could tell you that hot tubing in the winter in the mountains is just about the best thing in the world. 

The hot tub is for guests (and elves) only. 

We have wonderful big red towels to wrap up in when you are done.

Elfie recently heard about the Mayan prediction of the world ending tonight so he decided that it was time to stop working and just have some fun. It's nice for us to get him away from the present wrapping for a little while. We have a feeling he is going to feel very silly in the morning, that is if the Mayans weren't right.

One of our favorite things to do this time of year at the Avenue Hotel Bed and Breakfast in historic Manitou Springs is to wrap presents. Well some of us anyway. Elfie seems to be making more of a mess than he is helping.

Manitou Springs is one of the best places to go shopping! 

There are many unique shops here in town. 

You are sure to find something for everyone on your list. The town is decorated with lights and it's wonderful place to meet family and grab a bite as well.

While visiting Colorado Springs attractions guests will find our Pikes Peak lodging something special! Guests at our Manitou Springs B&B are treated with homemade goodies. Cooking is a passion here. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

Guests at the historic Avenue Hotel Bed and Breakfast, a Colorado Bed and Breakfast Inn on Manitou Avenue are treated every morning with a homemade breakfast. Gwenn usually gets up around 5:30 to start preparing. Everything is made fresh each morning.

Guests get  fresh fruit, fresh homemade a muffin, and an entree. Gwenn has won awards for her cooking and has even won awards for just her muffins.

As a Colorado bed and breakfast, the Avenue Hotel Bed and Breakfast  is hoping for a white Christmas in Manitou Springs. Gwenn collects snowmen so here is Elfie just chilling.  Even if we don't get snow we will have plenty of it inside! Many of the decorations in the bed and breakfast are frosted or we have batting for snow with lights underneath twinkling.   What are some of your favorite snow activities?

It seems that Elfie has already given up on the workout regiment.

Christmas decorating at the Avenue

A joy this time of year is decorating for Christmas. Our Manitou Springs Bed and Breakfast Inn near Colorado Springs has decorating ideas displayed throughout the Inn. The Avenue Hotel Bed and Breakfast is the perfect Victorian backdrop for many of our vintage arrangements

Front banister. Garland, large ornaments, floral picks, frosted poinsettia, and ribbon 

 The garland strung banister creates a warm and welcoming entry. Each guest room is decorated and festive. Vintage items feel traditional, and Christmas is definitely a time to celebrate tradition.

Due to the size of the bed and breakfast we have many decorating options. Often we put up two trees, one in each parlor, this year we did not. We put our 6 foot snowman in the Library parlor and the family tree in the other.

The mirror is hung with  evergreen garland with a string of light woven through out. Ornaments of the same color but different sizes are hung and secured around and on top. The corners are highlighted with ribbon and some special theme. The right corner has reindeer and the left poinsettia.  Floral picks and snowflakes act as fill.  

The large ornament is tied with ribbon and adorned with a lovely pick.  This makes for a beautiful decoration for a table or  in a candlestick

All of our arrangements are put together by my sister, Ann, I help.
 The sleigh is filled with floral foam inside a base of crinkled gold heavy metallic paper. Pine cones are spray painted gold. Create height with something interesting and tall, like the cones covered in berries. Floral picks of greenery and favorite seasonal flowers are used in the arrangement. Ribbon.

12pm-2pm on Saturdays.

The band Wassail will be playing on December 1st and 8th. 

The brass quintet will be playing December 15th and 21st.

Everyone this time of year always want to get in shape with the New Year's resolutions. Elfie has decided to get a jump start this year. Usually he tries to still in pretty good shape going on hikes and lifting pine cones but with snow on the ground outside he needed to find some other way to pump himself up!
