The Great Fruitcake Toss of Manitou Springs

For the past 15 years, residents in Manitou Springs, Colorado partake in "The Great Fruitcake Toss" to see who can hurl their unwanted fruitcakes the farthest. An annual event since 1995,  there are several categories in which contestants can compete the categories include launch, toss, hurl, and pneumatic devises.  Catapults enable the fruitcakes to go hundreds of yards and have no distance limitations. Two weight classes have been established; Standard 2 pound or Heavy 4 pound. Add to the fun with the Fruitcake Catch and Accuracy with Targets. The 16th annual Great Fruitcake Toss will be held at Manitou Springs High School Track. January 8, 2011. Registration at 9:30 AM with tossing beginning at 10AM.
